Event Details:
Program Manager for Energy Resources
Dr. Stackhouse is a Senior Research Scientist at the NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia and leads the POWER team. He also leads the NASA/Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment (GEWEX) Surface Radiation Budget (SRB) Project, and is a science team member of the Clouds and Earth Radiant Energy System (CERES) project and co-leads the FLASHFlux (Fast Longwave and Shortwave radiative Fluxes) working group.. Dr. Stackhouse completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences at Colorado State University in 1989 and 1995 respectively.
NASA POWER Chief Scientist
Dr. Patadia is a Research Physical Scientist at the NASA Langley and serves as the Deputy Project Manager for the POWER project. Dr. Patadia’s role involves assisting in POWER project management, future planning, and communications. She provides scientific oversight for algorithm development and data validation activities of the project. She works on growing existing POWER collaborations and building new partnerships in the solar energy, green building, agricultural and climate research communities. Dr. Patadia’s research experience includes aerosol retrievals from satellite observations with a focus on atmospheric corrections, developing methods for estimating aerosol retrieval uncertainty and mapping aerosol types over urban regions. Dr Patadia has also been studying the effect of atmospheric aerosols on Earth's radiation budget using MODIS, MISR and CERES satellite data.
NASA POWER Research Physical Scientist
Argonne National Laboratory
Dr. Mike Bosilovich is a meteorologist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s (GSFC) Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO). While studying meteorology in college, he became passionate about numerical prediction which applies computers and code to simulate the weather. Presently, he works with reanalyses which attempts to bring out the best of models and observations of weather and climate. He is currently working on the NEWS Regional Water Cycle Study to evaluate and explain the MERRA reanalysis representation of the US regional water cycle. As PI for the NASA/GMAO National Climate Assessment (NCA) Enabling Tools project, Dr. Bosilovich is also working on the reanalysis synthesis of EOS Observations to support the NCA and demonstrate utilization of reanalysis data to address sector weather and climate needs. He aims to learn about the interactions of the Earth system through observations and models including water and energy pathways in the atmosphere, and how to best use this data in research and applications for societal impacts.

NASA's POWER project and the Natural Resources Canada program entitled "RETScreen International" have collaborated in providing key data products to inform the renewable energy and energy efficiency projects for nearly 25 years. In celebration of this partnership, the RETScreen and POWER teams recognize the achievements made in project related decisions and education by issuing a special NASA award to individual groups that have excelled in utilizing the RETScreen Expert tool with NASA data from POWER. This year's recipients will have an opportunity to describe how they use RETScreen with NASA POWER information to achieve their goals.
