Utilize POWER's Datastores and Services in your workflows in minutes!
The POWER Project has released an enhanced cloud-based data processing pipeline for POWER Data v10. This is the third Python-based centralized data processing system that the POWER Project has developed and implemented. Each data processing pipeline implemented improvements from data formats, decreased processing latencies, larger temporal coverage, and much more. A core facet of this data processing system is the use of cloud-native, serverless architecture and computational power to process POWER data products.
New Capabilities
This cloud-based version, POWER Data v10, new data parameters, lower processing latency, and a framework to efficiently integrate new data providers. These new capabilities are available now through POWER's current services.
- Data Lineage – Enhanced data traceability to the source data product.
- Expanded Catalog – Added advanced and stored data parameters.
- Improved Latency – Independent processing for source data providers.
- Enhanced Metadata – Updated names, definitions, & status information.
- Management – Standardized processing workflows configuration.
- Processing – Improved speed utilizing serverless compute scalability.
- Common Code – Commonality in the processing framework codebase.
- Fault-Tolerant – Workflows processing include graceful fault recovery.
- Source Grids – Source data grid resolution.
- Dual Structure – Enable efficient spatial and temporal access.
- Data Quality – Integrated units, ranges, and data types checks.
- Data Compression – Decrease storage size and improved bandwidth.
POWER API's Migration (No Impact)
The POWER API Services have been seamlessly migrated to utilize the POWER Data v10 brining new capabilities and enhancements to the endpoints. The API endpoints will continue to work as expected and provide longer time-series and more data parameters.
Breaking Changes
The Direct Full Datastore paths and ArcGIS Image Service URLs have changed.
